Kitchen FUNdamentals - Knife Skills

You can't afford to miss this full participation class on knife skills. Become the proud owner of a brand-new Mercer 8” French Chef’s knife when you sign up for this Hands-On experience! You will slice, mince, and julienne your way to an understanding of produce fabrication techniques, maintenance and care of your new Mercer Cutlery. The Center’s Chef Instructor will explain proper knife grip, guide hand technique, and cutting style. You will have the opportunity to practice with a variety of New York State vegetables and fruits, as well as learn how to portion cut a whole chicken.

PLEASE NOTE: The 8” French Chef’s Knife that is purchased as part of the class price cannot be used in class. The experiential portion of this class will be instructed using the Center’s supply of Mercer cutlery. The purchased knife will be in a sealed retail case suitable for carrying and/or shipping.
